FAQ’s

Does Ashford feature anti-slam function?

Yes. It prevents unintentional locking and also accidental slam damage.

Does Ashford latch automatically when door is closed?

Yes. With the auto-latching feature, when the door is moved and handle is released, the hooks automatically latch to the door strike. Therefore the door latches itself when it reaches the door jamb, no matter if the user is pushing the handle or the door panel. Advantages include extra security, and preventing bounce-back when the door reaches the jam.

How do I unlatch the door?

The door unlatches when the handle is operated (notice that with other brands the door stays unlatched until latch is manually activated by hand).

How do I lock the door?

When door is latched, it can be locked by rotating the lock cylinder, with a key or thumbturn knob, depending on the handle function. An anti-locking device allows the lock cylinder to rotate with key or thumbturn knob, only when the door is latched to the strike.

How do I know if the door is locked?

Cylinder with 90º movement provides visual locking indicator.

Where is the Ashford system available?

The Ashford lock is manufactured by Winkhaus, and the lock & handle set are available only through FFI.
